On September 7, 2025, in Kakorla Village, Biriwa Chiefdom, Bombali District, Mayor of Freetown, Comrade Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr OBE, joined the APC Acting National Chairman Amb Osman Foday Yansaneh, the National Secretary-General Lansana Dumbuya, other APC comrades, family members and well-wishers at the funeral of the late Chief Sumiala A Y Sesay, also known as Chief Masiyanday. The late chief who passed away on August 11, 2025, at the age of 87, was a towering figure in his family, in the APC, and in the country as a whole. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace, and may perpetual light shine upon him.
