Celebrating 60 years of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Sierra Leone and the Republic of Korea

On the 28th of November, the Freetown City Council hosted the kick-off of a weeklong program of cultural activities commemorating 60 years of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Sierra Leone and the Republic of Korea. The New City Hall, started in 2017 and opened two years ago, was funded by the Korean Government and is a physical manifestation of the strength of the relationship between the two countries. 

Remarks were delivered by HE Ambassador Kim Young Chae, Foreign Minister Hon David Francis, and Mayor Yvonne Aki-sawyerr. Also present were the Minister of Trade Hon Hinga Sandy, the newly appointed Hon Counsul for Korea Mahesh Nandwani, members of the Korean Community in Freetown, Councillors, and Staff of Freetown City Council, and other invited guests. The kick-off event concluded with a tour of an exhibition of Korean cultural costumes, historical and recent photographs, and commercial products.
